Tony Demetriou

Managing Director

Tony Demetriou is CGL’s Managing Director, responsible for the company’s strategic growth and planning. With a strong background in Operations and Programme Management, he has a wealth of knowledge and experience in managing consultancies and change.

Richard Pennock

Commercial Director (Harrogate/North)

Richard is a CGL Director responsible for commercial, technical management and business development at CGL’s Harrogate office. His current specialist work area focuses on the energy sector and difficult access/remote and often hostile ground investigation contracts.

Mark Creighton

Director (London)

Mark is a Director based at our London office where he is responsible for developing the business in central London and providing specialist advice on temporary works and excavation strategies for a variety of clients around the capital and elsewhere.

Joanne Johnson

Head of Finance

Jo has worked in professional service organisations across multiple sectors. Her role within CGL is to oversee the day to day financial management of the business and further develop the finance function, processes and direct accounting operations.

Mione Hodgson

HR Business Partner

Mio is responsible for overseeing the whole employee lifecycle for all of our offices whilst supporting CGL’s strategic objectives. She is an experienced HR generalist with extensive experience supporting dispersed operational teams and running major HR initiatives. She brings to CGL solid knowledge of recruitment, employee relations, change management, implementing HR IT systems and proactive policy and procedures.

Jo Strange

Technical Director (Godalming)

Jo is particularly skilled in the design, implementation and interpretation of geoenvironmental site investigations, remediation design and validation. Jo is a chartered civil engineer with over 30 years experience.

Dr David Giles

Technical Director (Godalming)

Dr David Giles is CGL’s Technical Director with over 35 years’ of experience in academia and the Engineering Geology and Geotechnics industry.

Joseph Slattery

Technical Director (Dublin)

Joseph has very strong skills and experience in geotechnical analysis and design, including foundations, basements, temporary works, geostructural design, ground movement analysis, impact assessments, slope stability, earthworks and site investigations.

Steve Morgan

Regional Manager (Exeter/SW)

Steve has nine years of postgraduate experience as an engineering geologist involved in various geotechnical and geoenvironmental projects across the UK.

Mark Stringer

Regional Manager (Harrogate/North)

Mark is responsible for the management and supervision of site works on large-scale geotechnical ground investigation contracts nationwide, engaging with clients at the tender stage to provide quotations before then managing the resourcing and execution of works to ensure client specifications are met.

Geoff Faro

Regional Manager (Kent/SE)

Geoff is a Chartered Geologist and UK Registered Ground Engineering Professional with almost 20 years of experience and has worked within the UK and overseas

Philippa Bennett

Regional Manager (Leicester/Midlands)

Philippa is responsible for the management and supervision of site works on large-scale ground investigation contracts nationwide, liaising with clients to understand their needs and provide bespoke, focused and practical advice.

Adam Branson

Regional Manager (Godalming/South Central)

Adam has more than 17 years’ experience across both contractor and consultant roles and is experienced in all phases of geoenvironmental and geotechnical investigations.
