Dr David Giles, CGL’s Technical Director, will provide an overview of some of the key ground-related hazards with respect to the chalk of Southeast England. The talk will focus on the problematic ground conditions that could be encountered on development sites located on chalk and will present strategies to investigate and de-risk these problems.
Areas covered will include:
- Understanding the nature of chalk
- What ground related hazards could be expected in the chalk
- Advanced site investigation techniques for assessing chalk areas
- Case study examples
Doors will open from 4:00 pm and refreshments will be served. The presentations will be from 4.30 pm to 5.30 pm, with plenty of time afterwards for questions/discussion.
